The officially licensed crossover sees several instantly iconic Шпион х Семья and Sanrio character pairings, with each of these showcasing the characters in the clothing of their partner rather than their usual outfits. Anya Forger, of course, is the star of the show, sporting a pair of blue overalls with a prominent dark pink bow in her hair. Meanwhile, Hello Kitty is dressed in Anya’s black school uniform with gold trim, and she’s even wearing Anya’s distinct black hair cone-like accessories over her ears. The pairings continue with Loid and Pompompurin, Yor and My Melody, and Bond and Cinnamoroll.
The artwork celebrates an exclusive collaboration that begins on Aug. 13, when pop-up shops will open across Japan. While these kinds of pop-ups are often limited just to Tokyo, this one will begin there at Ikebukuro Loft, before moving to Osaka’s Umeda Store and then Tenjin Store in Fukuoka. Merchandise featuring the new artwork will be available to purchase physically, while pre-orders began on June 10 at 4 p.m. JST via Toho Animation Store. Reservations close on June 18 at 11.59 p.m. JST. Merchandise includes drawstring pouches, trading cards, badges, clear files, acrylic stands, hand towels, tote bags, keychains and more, sold individually as well as in sets. Individual items are priced at 440 to 3,850 yen (~US$3-$27), while full-set collections are available for 4,950 to 6,600 yen (~US$34-$46).
